Loads to do in Narooma

As a popular holiday destination, Narooma boasts plenty of activities for couples and families alike. Why not head to the Wagonga Inlet or see some of the charter operators for some fishing, whale watching or a dive with the seals.

The beaches are marvellous, the toughest bit is which one to choose? If you’re after a dog friendly beach, you’re best off at Duesbury beach (north of Kianga), Glasshouse Rocks beach, or Hankerchief beach (there’s a dirt road turn off next to the campground heading north from Tilba). Hankerchief beach has a staggeringly picturesque inlet that is usually refreshed by the tides. Sit by calm, crystal clear waters and enjoy the sun while your kids play.

If you’ve had your fill of surfing and swimming, there are some lovely walks around Narooma. Why not head to the famous boardwalk that looks over the inlet at Mill Bay – most of the time you’ll be able to spot stingrays, octopus, fish, soldier crabs, pelicans and the occassional sea eagle! You can also walk, or cycle along the cycleway from Narooma to Dalmeny. It takes you all the way from Australia Rock to Dalmeny – where incidentally, you can enjoy some of Narooma’s best fish and chips – visit Michael’s at Dalmeny.

For those who love a good burger, there is no better than Kosta’s Cafe. It sits around the corner from Michael’s adjoining the carpark. Regardless of your choice, you’ll be able to enjoy your food overlooking Dalmeny beach or headland with some great play facilities there for the kids.
