Tilba
Valley Wines
was established
in 1978. Cabernet
Sauvignon and Traminer
were the first vines
to be planted, followed
by Semillon, Riesling,
Chardonnay and Shiraz.
Planting was completed
in 1987 by which
time there were
12 acres under vines
and well over 5,000
vines.
The winery opened
in 1983, the first
one on the Far South
Coast. It remains
the only commercial
winery in the area.
Some 700 cases of
wine are produced
annually. Tilba
Valley Wines are
only available direct
from the winery,
either at the cellar
door or by post
Wines can be tasted
free of charge in
the rustic timbered
tasting room and
are available for
purchase from $16
per bottle.
Visitors can take
