It’s not only the wine that attracts visitors to the Tilba Valley Winery - there is also the thought of enjoying a tasty lunch, delicious morning coffee with muffins or a Devonshire cream tea later in the day.

Our kitchen uses the freshest, highest quality local produce (vegetables, herbs, fruit and eggs from the vineyard) and avoids buying in whenever possible. So when you taste guacamole or hummus at the winery it’s ours and no one else’s - and that’s why it tastes different!

Colour and presentation are of paramount importance and all dishes must catch the eye. We try to introduce the ‘wow!’ factor into even the most basic of dishes. It’s important to ensure the kitchen complements the wines produced in the vineyard and we try to incorporate these in our dishes whenever we can - pears poached in Pinot, mushrooms a la Grecque with Semillon or Beef Casserole with Cab-Shiraz for instance.

The old favourites such as the traditional ploughman’s lunch, the porterhouse steak sandwich and the zucchini slice for vegetarians continue to feature on the menu, but there are always new dishes and dishes that you won’t find elsewhere locally - vegetable terrine, stuffed mushrooms, feta/spinach or rabbit filo parcels, smoked trout salad, gazpacho, coronation chicken, beetroot tzatiki, and all kinds of soups and casseroles in winter.

Entrees come out at about $7 each and mains range from $6 -$15.50. Home made desserts (all $7.50) are a highlight - the current favourites being chocolate, prune and brandy terrine, white chocolate pannacotta, vanilla bean and coffee crème caramel and Bailey’s crème brûlée.

The restaurant is open everyday. Visitors can enjoy lunch in the wood-paneled banquet room, on the verandah, by the pond, in the gazebo or by the log fire if it’s cold. Wherever, you’re guaranteed a wonderful setting and a memorable experience.

Other local products are also available for sale in our tasting room, including dressings, chutneys, mustards, jams, olive oil, pottery, wine glasses and CDs of musicians who’ve played at the winery.
